Reviews for casa oasis in Almedinilla, Cordoba, Spain

What our guests say...

We, two couples from Holland, go for a short holiday twice a year to different countries in Europe, always staying in hotels. For the first time we slept in a B&B. I made a reservation on the world wide web and we choose Casa Oasis near Almedinilla in the south of Spain. The hospitality of the innkeepers was overwhelming. A beautiful room,a good bed and, in the morning, farm-fresh eggs for our breakfast have convinced us to use more often a B&B instead of a hotel. Jan and Mike keep up the good work.

Thank you for everything you've done for us. We won't forget you and we'll miss you. Be sure that we will come back one day.

Jan en Mike, nog eens bedankt voor jullie gastvrijheid. De plaats is de naam zeker waard : een echte oase, waar de gasten ontvangen worden zoals thuis, met ongelooflijk lekker en verzorgd eten, en vele verhalen...

We would both like to say how much we appreciated our stay with you. We enjoyed the informality, the comfort, the wonderful food and the delightful surroundings. And thanks for arranging those visits; much appreciated.

We happened across a no-details-spared B&B in a Spanish village, 45 minutes’ drive from the Alhambra, and all for 40 Euros a night.   While they are the most welcoming of hosts, the guest rooms have their own private entrance and staircase to the garden, pool (and pool bar).  From the guest room balcony we could sit and relax looking out over the hills covered in olive trees, and the stream – and all just at the end of the garden.

The rooms have kept the region’s traditional charm, and are newly decorated in bright Andalucian colours.  The bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom was beautifully fitted out, and large enough to live in!  Tea-and-coffee-making facilities, and soaps and shampoos for the bathroom, were as plentiful as in the best hotel.

Janet and Michael can, for a reasonable fee, arrange a personal chauffeur service to local places of interest.  We took advantage of this, and visited Granada for the Alhambra, and Cordoba, a Moorish City, both an easy drive away.  We hadn’t wanted to drive abroad, but next time would not worry, as the roads were empty, and well maintained.

Janet is a superb cook, and we enjoyed three evening meals, at great value for money (10 Euros per person).  Breakfast is included in the B&B price, and included freshly-laid eggs from their own chickens.

Neighbours popped in and out to see Janet and Michael during our stay – not only Spanish locals, but ex-pats from a surprising variety of countries.  The main tourist trail is easily accessible, but we could escape to a rural retreat - and amongst friends.

This was my very first time visiting Spain and it was my good fortune to have stayed at Casa Oasis for 4 days.  Thanks to the warm hospitality of Jan and Michael, staying with them was the highlight of the trip.  They are warm, charming and fun to be with.  I had such a good time that my wife and I are returning in the Fall.  Thanks Jan and Michael.
